With heavy rain and unsettled weather expected to remain in our area through Sunday, the City of West Frankfort is taking proactive steps to ensure public safety and protect infrastructure from potential flooding.
The West Frankfort Street Department has been working diligently to keep storm drains and culverts clear of debris to allow for proper water flow. Crews are inspecting high-risk areas throughout the city, addressing blockages, and standing by with necessary equipment in case of emergency response needs.
Mayor Tim Arview stated, “Our Street Department is committed to protecting residents and property. Their efforts this week help reduce the risks of flooding and ensure that roadways remain passable during this weather event. We urge residents to remain alert and report any blocked drains, standing water, or other concerns they notice.”
Residents are encouraged to take precautions and monitor local weather alerts through the weekend. Updates will be shared as needed on the city’s website, app, and official social media channels.
To report flooding concerns or stormwater issues, please contact City Hall at (618) 932-3262.
