To obtain water service, please bring the following items to the water office:
· Filled out Water Service Application
· Proof of residency – Rental Contract or Deed for the property
· Photo Identification
Copy of Social Security Card
· Security Deposit
- Owners: $50.00
- Renters / Contract for Deed: $100.00
The required security deposit is kept on file until termination of service, to be applied to your final bill. This deposit cannot be used against a late bill. It must stay on file until you no longer require water service at the property. Once your final bill is paid, any remaining deposit will be refunded to you.
A minimum water, sewer, and trash collection bill is $29.66 for usage up to 1000 gallons. All bills are mailed out the first working day of each month. We bill 4 – 6 weeks behind. If you do not receive your bill, you may call the water department at 618-937-4512 to obtain the balance of you account and to ensure that we are mailing it to the proper mailing address. If we have mailed your bill to the correct mailing address but you have not received it, please contact the post office at 618-937-4161.
You have from the 1st to the 15th of every month to pay your bill without accruing a late penalty. A 10% penalty will be added on the first business day following the 15th of every month on any remaining balance on your account.
Additional Water Fees:
Reconnection Fee: $150.00
Water Tap Fee for inside City limits: $500.00
Water Tap Fee for outside City limits: $600.00
(Must obtain City council approval)
Sewer Tap Inspection Fee inside City limits: $105.00
(Sewer tap MUST be done by a licensed plumber)
Return Check Fee: $ 35.00
